Magicians for Christmas parties

Christmas party entertainment is easy to get wrong. A DJ only works once people are ready to dance, and a quiz can feel like another meeting. A good magician works from the moment the first guest walks in, breaking the ice, getting teams mixing and giving everyone a story to tell on Monday.

We book close-up and stage magicians for office Christmas parties, company dinners, Christmas balls, family get-togethers and New Year's Eve, all over the UK. Have a look at our magicians, then tell us about your party.

Whatever kind of Christmas do

Guests in black tie mingle at an evening party as a man takes a drink from a bowl of chilled bottles

Office Christmas party magician

Most office Christmas parties have the same problem in the first hour. People turn up, get a drink and stand with the same four colleagues they sit next to all year. Sales stay with sales, IT finds a corner. A good close-up magician fixes that faster than anything else we know.

A long Christmas dinner table with crackers at every place, candles, baubles and dishes of roast potatoes

Christmas dinner magician

A sit-down Christmas dinner has a rhythm to it. Crackers, starter, a wait, turkey, a longer wait, pudding. When a venue is serving a hundred or more meals, those waits can drag, and that's when people start checking their phones.

Christmas ball magician

A Christmas ball is the big one. Black tie, a three-course dinner, a band and a few hundred guests who've made the effort. The entertainment has to match the setting, and a magician fits the bill brilliantly.

Family Christmas party magician

Family Christmas parties are lovely and a bit chaotic. Grandparents who want a sit-down, teenagers glued to their phones, little ones running about full of sugar. Finding something they'll all enjoy together isn't easy.

New Year's Eve magician

New Year's Eve is a long night. People arrive at eight, midnight is four hours off, and there's a real risk the party peaks too early. A magician keeps the energy up through that middle stretch, so the room is buzzing when the countdown starts.

Christmas stage show

Close-up magic is brilliant for mingling, but sometimes you want everyone watching the same thing at the same time. A shared moment, a room full of people gasping together. That's what a stage show gives you.

How booking works

  1. Tell us about your party

Send us the date, venue, guest numbers and what kind of do it is. If you have a favourite act in mind, say so.

  2. We check who's free

We'll come back with magicians who are available and suit your event, along with prices, so you can compare.

  3. Confirm and relax

Pick your act and we'll confirm everything in writing. Then it's one less thing to worry about in December.

Christmas party questions

What's the best Christmas party entertainment for a work do?

For most work parties, a close-up magician who mingles during drinks and goes round the tables at dinner is hard to beat. It gets people from different teams talking, and nobody has to do anything they don't want to.

How much does a Christmas party magician cost?

A close-up magician for a Christmas party typically costs £350 to £700 for two to three hours. See our price guide for more.

Which dates go first?

Fridays and Saturdays in December book up first. Weekday parties and dates early in the month are much easier, so book as soon as you know your date.

Do you cover the whole UK?

Yes. Our magicians are based in different parts of the country and many travel nationwide.

Can we have a stage show instead?

Yes. We book cabaret spots and headline stage acts too. Have a look at our Christmas stage show page.
